How to Figure Out Grams and Ounces
Today’s Help Alert
Comment –
I am just starting and my biggest issue is trying to figure out the grams and oz.
My Recommendation –
When I started the protocol I bought a small scale that weighed in either ounces or grams.
While on P2 weighing out the shrimp or chicken was a cinch using this scale!
Amazon has great prices and I still use my scale especially when I want to do my nut fast.
I just put the mac nuts in the little tray then throw each serving into a snack baggie.
Enter Grams to Ounces in Google and a Conversion Calclator will be right at the top.

Pro’s and Con’s with HCG
HCG Gave Me My BEST RESULTS!
I remember my first diets began as early as elementary school. I also recall doing the whole mind game of telling myself “Monday I’m going to start my diet” Sometimes when Monday came I was ready other times I did more mental bartering.
Fast forward to my HCG experience, When I began my journey all I knew was the 2 choices was either sub-lingual or injection but both were using RX HCG. Now there are so many products claiming to be hcg in drops or pellet form..HUM…..
I will not take on that issue in this post. What I want to focus on is how to be ready for your journey both mentally and physically so you will succeed.
My favorite “GO TO” for ordering HCG Online – ReliableRXpharmacy
Mentally you need to be raring to go. Have that “I can’t wait to start” feeling. I had watched so many you tube vlogs and read so many forums and posts along with of course “pounds & Inches” while I was waiting for my HCG to arrive I was completely ready to jump in feet first.
But with protocol timing is very important. I get asked over and over when someone is starting HCG for the first time if it is ok to go ahead and start their round if TOM had started or was about to. My answer is wait. Better to have the extra patience and be able to start your round when you know you will have a minimum of 10 days into the round before TOM could be part of the equation.
What is your social calendar looking like? Only YOU know what you can resist and though HCG puts hunger on the back burner sometimes food isn’t about hunger but emotional triggers or socializing. Personally I don’t like to try to visit with people and eat at the same time. That might sound odd to some people but for me it seems like it never fails, I put a bite of food in my mouth and someone will walk up and ask me a question.
Now so far as you are reading this and you KNOW that you are good to go on all counts that I have brought up so far GREAT.
Now be sure you have your tools in place.
What I mean by that is have a good bathroom scale. A scale that will give you more info than just a pound number. Fat percent etc REALLY helps while you are releasing on HCG and take measurements everywhere on your body that you can. You will be amazed where you lose and if you don’t get all your stats from the beginning you will regret it later. I recommend the myotape. Remember there is a good reason why the doctor called it “pounds & Inches”
My next advice is do as I say, not what I did.
Take HCG before pictures. The only reason I have a before shot is because my brother snapped off a pic of me when we were on vacation. But what wouldn’t give now to have full on front, back, and side shots that would have been taken the day before my 1st P2 round.
JOURNAL – Do this like you never have before! I was looking at my journal today to see where I was at around this time last year. The pattern I noticed was when I would weigh and write down what I thought I was doing right or what I was doing wrong. If I had a gain you could see how it was brought right back where it should be as along as I stayed current with what I was doing. If I saw an entry and then saw I didn’t write anything for a few days when I was willing to fess-up and get on the scale there was much more of a “price to pay” if you know what I mean.
My birthday is next month and my goal is to be the same weight I was on this date last year on my birthday. Why don’t I pick the weight I was on my Birthday last year? I didn’t write in an entry in my journal. So today I completely regret that I don’t have that stat!!!
I began this post stating,”HCG Gave Me My BEST RESULTS!”
This statement is so very true. I never looked or felt gaunt or sickly. Dr Simeons explained how it targets the abnormal fat and it DID. On other diets in the past I hit the same weight numbers I did on HCG but definitely was not the size and shape HCG got me to. Before my journey other ladies would say if I had back fat it was just an age thing that couldn’t be avoided…wrong.
My butt and hips got smaller than they were before I had kids. This knocks down another theory that after you have kids those areas change and you can’t get those areas down like you could before pregnancies.
And Before my HCG journey I was losing a lot of hair to the point that the girl who does my hair was gravely concerned. When I began HCG the fall out subsided and then a bit after that while still on my rounds I found a hair vitamin I like a lot and still take to this day, I also like it because it also has MSM.
It looks to me like there are a LOT of Pro’s.
Here is what I think are the Con’s –
- Don’t get suckered into a product that is not HCG!
- Understand that it is restrictive as far as what and how much you can eat.
- You need to access if this will work in your life based on why you eat.
- Desire & Timing is everything! It is important to check your calendar, schedule, and body clock (time of month arrival eta).
- You want to set yourself up for success and as long as you check off the right boxes and do it right you will see results beyond what you could have imagined!:)
Get Started with HCG
HCG QUESTION OF THE DAY- How Do I Get Started On HCG ?
QUESTION:
Hi, I ran into your page through youtube, been looking to start on hcg I want to loose 30 pounds but don't know where to start if you can please tell me how many vials to buy and the list of the things I need to buy to start on hcg please
Steps I took when I decided to start my HCG journey
Though this was not the first online pharmacy I used it is the one I like the best.
Reliablerxpharmacy
Because the HCG is not expensive but shipping and handling is the same whether
you get one vial or 3 I opted to get 3. I always got 3 whenever I ordered.
When not mixed they have a long shelf life plus i keep mine in the fridge even when not mixed.
I always ordered the 5000 iu.
The brands of HCG I have gotten in the past based on availability are Hucog, Corion, and Novarel.
Next for my first round I ordered a kit that had all the mixing supplies and syringes from HCGbasics.com.
Amanda that runs that website was one of the first mixing vlogs
I watched on you tube and when I ordered was good about answering my questions.
Granted later once I knew what I needed I could order the supplies online myself for less money.
But for the first time it was nice to have everything I needed in one easy kit.
Sometimes peace of mind that you have the right stuff out weights the cost. The kit was approx $60
but it got me through if I remember right 3 rounds. Speaking of cost, if you are a seasoned dieter
like I have been all the different programs, supplements diet doctors etc that we have gone through
in the past in the grand scheme of things I would say my HCG journey was the most affordable.
NEXT while waiting for my hcg and supplies to arrive the MOST important thing
I did was READ the POUNDS & INCHES Manuscript over and over again.
I am not a person who loves to read BUT this is vital for a lot of reasons.
You need to truly understand why this protocol works especially when there
are so many hcg protocol “want-a- be’s” lurking out there now.
If you do the food plan without the REAL HCG you will not get the right result
and yes you will be hungry and for good reason (starved).
Step 2 – I watched YouTube to hear from other hcger on their journey and
about how to mix the HCG and recipes people had come up with.
Another word of CAUTION…From the time I started till now the environment is different on youtube.
Unfortunately when people or companies think there is a fast buck to be made they want to jump on the wagon.
Use Discernment when you watch a vlog. If it is all looking to “slick” I would move on.
Watch the people that you can tell are simply sharing their journey with you.
And if a channel looks like the vlog you are watching isn’t made on the channel you are one that is another red flag.
I have had to report copy write infringement reports a few times because someone ripped my vlog
and put it on their channel so people would go to their website and buy what they were selling. And it was probably not even real hcg 🙁
Step 3 -Get or make sure you have the tools to gauge your success.
1 – Take your measurements measure EVERY area you can. Trust me later you will be glad you did.
(a Myotape is recommended)
I know this is a tough one. I didn’t take any but thankfully my brother
had snapped off some vacation shots that I hated looking at but was thankful
to have once I was in my “after stage” 🙂
Since you will do as I say and not do as I do 😉
Take from , back and both sides. Trust me later it will be worth it!
3 -scale to weigh the protein portions
$ Have a good body scale that also gives you body percentages.
below is the one I have but there are others now that you don’t
Have to “tap” to turn on
This probably looks very daunting at this point but it really is simple
and so very worth it when you realize the results you are going to get
will be more than you could have ever dreamed!
I have the protocol manuscript, measuring spreadsheets, and progress sheets
All free to download. Plus links to get to the various items so that should help a bit. 🙂
P.S. speaking you youtube I know I am WAY overdue to post a vlog.
I will do my best to post one in the near future.
Till then keep me posted on all your great success and let me know if you have questions 🙂
Weigh In Daily for Long Term Weight Loss SUCCESS!
Your Scale and YOU
Unlike other plans that recommend weighing in weekly or less often, of course the HCG plan states you should weigh yourself daily.
Even after you meet your weight goals, research has shown that people who’ve lost weight and continue to weigh themselves regularly afterward are better able to keep the weight off.
So plan to make friends with your scale for the rest of your life.
“Daily?” you ask (please don’t frown or curse too much – lol).
Yes! Studies show that people who weigh themselves daily are more successful at long-term weight loss than those who weigh themselves weekly. Experts speculate that frequent weigh-ins remind you of your goals and help keep you motivated. Many fitness centers and programs feel that an essential part of this daily weighing strategy is tracking your weight on a graph. A graph helps you to see the big picture: Rather than focusing on one day’s number, you’re looking at trends over several days, weeks, or months. There’s nothing more motivating than seeing that line move downward over time! I today’s technology tracking your weight is easy — simply enter your weight each day on a phone app ( there are so many to choose from) and it will automatically graph your results.
Just like writing weight fluctuations, inch loss and what you are eating (what works and what doesn’t) in a journal ( graphs are good because they can help you to become accustomed to the fact that the number on the scale does fluctuate each day. The line won’t always move downward, and that’s okay. Weight normally varies from day to day, based on factors like how much water your body is retaining, among others. Seeing these normal fluctuations on a graph keeps a person from getting discouraged by them — they look past the little ups and downs and focus on the larger trends.
Another advantage to graphing with daily weigh-ins is that it helps you self-monitor more effectively. If you see your weight beginning to trend in the wrong direction, you can take steps to nip that trend in the bud asap.
Of course, weighing in daily isn’t right for everyone. If you’ve ever had an eating disorder like anorexia or bulimia or if you find it extremely upsetting to get on the scale, you should talk to your doctor or mental health–care provider. Otherwise, give it a try and see how it works for you!
If daily weighing is a good strategy for you, I encourage you to keep it up —
The times that I have “stumbled” while maintaining my new size thanks to my HCG journey was when I slacked on weighing daily.
Jumping on the scale each morning will greatly increase your chances of both short-term and lifelong success.
“Did you Exercise While on HCG”?
I Have Been asked this Question Quite a Bit . And since it is such a Good Question that Most Newbies Ask Much of the Time Here is My 2 cents Worth aka the “Colleen Theory” – LOL
Question –
First of all CONGRATULATIONS! =D I was just messaging you for a quick question I’ve been wanting to ask an HCG past user. Did you work out while you were taking hCG? If not, would you recommend it? and if So how much? THANK YOUUU! =D
My Answer –
I didn’t workout during my early rounds. This is why, in pounds and inches Dr Simeon talks about how the American patients that went to Italy for the treatment would gain from doing activity their body wasn’t use to . For example since they are use to driving a car to get around but in Italy there is more walking done than driving.
So I incorporated walking on the treadmill while on P3 so my body was use to the added activity by the time I was ready to do P2 again.
So here is my “Colleen Theory” . When you start HCG if you are already doing an exercise plan your body is use to I don’t think you have to stop. But if you haven’t been exercising prior to the protocol now is not the time to start P2 AND an exercise regime. The scale could end up causing too many head games as far as the releases (numbers on the scale) going down the way you want them to.
Cycling/Interuptions – Explained
HCG – This Article Inspired Me To Cycle;
I understood when making this choice that there was a possibility that stabilizing would be a uphill climb.I admit that I am a impatient person. I also want to point out that I respect and admire the HCGers that choose to do the rounds and breaks correctly as protocol is designed. Patience IS a virtue … I decided on the “fast track”…But hey, they (meaning me) don’t call me “lab rat” for nothing 😉 – Colleen
Here is another HCGer’s journey –
I have been getting lots of questions on cycling lately. It’s not something that I can give a short answer to (is anything ever in my world?) so I decided to write an article about it. There are several things that come into play that made me decide to do what I assumed would be my “final” round in cycles.
There are more than a few things that come into play – and these are things that I have personally come up with having months on months of PURIST PROTOCOL under my belt, along with rounds that totaled 8 weeks (1st Round), 6 weeks (2nd Round), 3 weeks (3rd Round) and 4 weeks (4th Round) before I even considered doing things this way.
Why do I say that? I get questioned sometimes about my pulling away from Dr. Simeon’s book, and what gives me that right? First, I have the right because I did 4 rounds (total of 21 weeks with a loss of 98.8 lbs) following his protocol to a “T” – I have the supporting data to find out what works and what doesn’t for me and I have used that information to make informed decisions on my own “self doctoring” path that I have chosen in My HCG Journey.
In looking over how I arrived at the decision to spend my 5th round in cycles, I considered the following:
- Head in the Game
- Minimum Course
- Unforeseen Interruptions
- P3 Breaks
- Jump Start Losses
Let’s go over this ONE by ONE.
Head in the Game
I wrote an article and in it was discussed the whole MIND GAME routine we play with ourselves and how it relates to the protocol. I have found that it is EASY PEASY to commit to a “short round” and have the OPTION of making it longer, than trying to do this long butt round and being disappointed in the results. So since I knew what the MINIMUM course was – I figured I could be on HCG for 3 weeks at a time. Ah, so then my next point logically is this:
Minimum Course
In his book Pounds and Inches, Dr. Simeon’s says this under “Duration of Treatment”:
We never give a treatment lasting less than 26 days, even in patients needing to lose only 5 pounds. It seems that even in the mildest cases of obesity the diencephalon requires about three weeks rest from the maximal exertion to which it has been previously subjected in order to regain fully its normal fat-banking capacity. Clinically this expresses itself in the fact that when in these mild cases treatment is stopped as soon as the weight is normal, which may be achieved in a week, it is much more easily regained than after a full course of 23 injections.
So it stands to reason that you can do a SHORT course as per his instructions with NO issues. In doing SHORT cycles like this, you will then ward off any possibility of “Immunity” that Dr. Simeon’s talks about in his book. In any case, I have my thoughts on IMMUNITY as well; in so much as it is NOT the factor that Dr. Simeon’s thought it was in his day. The unfortunate thing is that Dr. Simeon’s passed long before he could complete his research – but really, this is a thought for another day.
So we have established that 3 week cycles are AOK – now what about the breaks? Let’s look at what Dr. Simeon’s says about “Unforeseen Interruptions”:
Unforeseen Interruptions
Unforeseen Interruptions of Treatment
If an interruption of treatment lasting more than four days is necessary, the patient must increase his diet to at least 800 Calories by adding meat, eggs, cheese, and milk to his diet after the third day, as otherwise he will find himself so hungry and weak that he is unable to go about his usual occupation. If the interval lasts less than two weeks the patient can directly resume injections and the 500-Calorie diet, but if the interruption lasts longer he must again eat normally until he has had his third injection.
When a patient knows beforehand that he will have to travel and be absent for more than four days, it is always better to stop injections three days before he is due to leave so that he can have the three days of strict dieting which are necessary after the last injection at home. This saves him from the almost impossible task of having to arrange the 500 Calorie diet while en route, and he can thus enjoy a much greater dietary freedom from the day of his departure. Interruptions occurring before 20 effective injections have been given are most undesirable, because with less than that number of injections some weight is liable to be regained. After the 20th injection an unavoidable interruption is merely a loss of time.
In other words, he says there would be situations that would be needed to be considered where you had to take a break, you would have to have AT LEAST 800 calories and that if the interruption was LESS than 14 days you go straight back into VLCD with your first dose of HCG, but if it were LONGER than 14 days you would eat NORMALLY for two days with HCG and then the THIRD DAY would be a VLCD day with a dose of HCG. And he also tells us that after the 20th injection, you are pretty safe – so are you beginning to see my line of reasoning in my breaks?
I have chosen to keep my breaks while I am CYCLING this round to between 7 – 10 days long each. That is my choice. But you have until the 21st day on a break for it still to be considered a cycle because anything MORE than that would be an ENTIRE PHASE 3 break, and your round would be complete. A round is a COMPLETE Phase 2 and a COMPLETE Phase 3 – and then however many days you decide to do in Phase 4 – anything less than that it becomes a cycle (or it does in my world!).
So then, what happens when I am breaking for 7 – 10 days?
P3 Breaks
You have to follow the same procedure as you do with a regular P3 break; you do it with NO sugars and NO starches. This cycling thing is not for the faint of heart, no ma’am. You must maintain during the short break or your time will be wasted. Believe me, I speak from experience. This last short break I took has been the best so far since I started cycling, as I have lost a total of 7 pounds in 7 days. I started at only 2.4 over my LIW – and within 48 hours I was already below LIW and into “virgin territory”. Let me illustrate:
From LIW which was on August 18 (148.2) till today, September 9 (143.6) I have lost a total of 4.6 lbs in 21 days, of which only 10 of those days were VLCD, the other 11 days were spent maintaining and eating pretty much how I want. 4.6 lbs in 21 days on ANY weight loss program is pretty sweet. When you consider the loss of 4.6 lbs in 10 VLCD days? Well then, that is even MORE sweet. In other words, it WORKS for me.
Last but not least, as with anyone with a bunch of data behind them, they know one thing for sure:
LOSSES ARE BETTER AT THE BEGINNING OF A ROUND
Yup! I didn’t have to tell you this did I? I like those monster losses at the beginning and my head is way more into the game then, so why should I suffer? At first, I was like everyone else, afraid this wouldn’t work after the first time, but here I am over 100 lbs lost later, and it is STILL working. So that being said, that is why I chose to CYCLE.

How Many Ounces is 100 Grams?
I get asked that a lot when HCGers are starting P2 protocol. I had the same question too.
Here is a good post to reference to figure it all out
BTW – 3.5 OZ equals 100 grams 😉

Best Tape Measuring Device
Fat is BIGGER than Muscle
Muscle Weighs More than Fat
When it comes time to incorporate exercise back into your lifestyle you will have changes to adjust to.
This example has always stuck with me and I want to share it with you –
If you used one of those “balance scales”, you know the ones with an area to load items on both sides”
Ok, Let’s say on one side you filled the entire side with a can of whipcream. It would spill over the scale plate before you know it.
Now on the other side add a small piece of filet mignon.
Of course on the filet side there would be extra area to add more to the scale plate (no spill over) But GUESS WHAT???
The whip cream (which represents FAT)
Would still weigh less than the filet mignon (Your lean muscle)
Yet the filet would obviously weigh more than the whip cream.
I hope this gives many of you peace of mind.
Because as we know the more MUSCLE our body’s have to maintain, the more calories it needs to sustain itself.
That is a good thing 😉
