Which HCG Brand to Use?
What HCG Brand did you use?
This is a good question so I decided to make it the question of the day.
Question:
Thanks for all the great information. I have just learned of hcg. I just have some basic questions to help decide which way to go.
I see where you list suppliers you have purchased from, but not what brand you purchased/used. So basically I just would like to know what exactly did you use and how did you get it. Did you have to have a prescription?
Answer:
A prescription for HCG wasn’t needed.
I prefer to get Hucog brand or the generic version of it. I have also used Corion and it was fine too. To save on the shipping and handling I always purchased 3 at a time. And since I preferred to do 40 day rounds I would buy 5000 iu. I have the mixing breakdown on this blog for both 5000 iu and 2000 iu. But I am most familiar with the 5000 iu. The bacteriostatic water can be bought online from medical supply, bodybuilder websites and Amazon. My very first round I bought a supply “kit” that had everything to get started except for the hcg. After that because I had examples at my fingertips of what I needed I would get everything on my own.
Online HCG ordering site I prefer is – Reliablerxpharmacy
Side note: Since my original blog post if I do a HCG round ever so often I don’t have enough fat to lose so even the 23 day round is too long for me. I get to goal around the 14 day mark. I stay on because of the HCG protocol reccommendation. I end up a bit under weight but that is fine to give “wiggle room” for holidays or vacation time etc (usually that is when I decide on a round).
In the past I have been over 200 lbs. My orriginal HCG journey/protocol doesnt let my body get too far beyond the 130’s (aka “set point”).
A couple of times I have ventured into the 140’s went back on HCG and arrived back to my “happy place” the 120’s.
Recently I have had a lot of life stress that has been more than usual which caused emotional triggers and stress belly fat that I can usually keep in check to surface…Let’s face it we have all been there – ARG!
I also since I have this blog keeping current with the HCG experience isn’t a bad thing – LOL

What is HCG Phase 1?
Is Phase One Required When Starting HCG?
If there is Phase 2 and Phase 3 where did Phase 1 go?
We always hear Phase 2 and Phase 3 being talked about when referring to the HCG Protocol.
What is HCG Phase 1?
For most people Phase 1 is considered the Loading Phase.
If you land on this post and prefer to read about loading click through to my post about Loading.
The Other Phase One:
The Author of the book below hasn’t always done the “right thing” in business. But what he did do right was believe in Dr Simeone’s Pounds & Inches research.
Let me explain…
Well a very clever business man named Kevin Trudeau highly respected Dr Simeon and his research and decided to share Dr Simeon’s theory by writing a book The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You to Know About.
Of course to write the book and make it his own it would require additional information.
So he set out to add his spin on the original protocol. In this case I am not saying the word “spin” is bad – It just is what it is. There is always something a person can learn from a different view, all I want to do is help inform then you can take from it what you want.
Phase 1 in a Nutshell
This phase is not required, I didn’t do this phase prior to my HCG journey but had done a cleanse a few months before.
Plus the author who recommend Phase 1 said based on today’s conditions it is highly recommended. The author felt this phase addresses and corrects many of the new underlying causes of obesity that Simeons did not contend with in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
But he went on to say that if you skip this phase, or do it halfheartedly you can still achieve spectacular results in HCG Phase 2.
This phase 1 consists of a series of Do’s and Don’ts.
It may be difficult for most people to do all the steps in this phase with strict adherence.
The idea was to do Phase 1 for the thirty days prior to starting Phase 2.
The author said the more you do in this phase will result in losing more weight faster during Phase 2. And will accelerate the fat and weight loss in Phase 2, plus make the whole protocol easier to complete. He went on to say the more you do in this phase will greatly increase your ability to keep the weight off permanently and eliminate food cravings in the future.
Much of what the author listed on the “Do List” is different supplements and enzymes that many HCGers including me have used and talked about.
Along with simple logic –Drink plenty of water; be active for good circulation etc.
Don’t eat after 6 p.m. Eat 6 small meals through out the day – you get the idea. The basics we have all read for just about every food plan out there.
Other natural good for you ideas are asked to be implemented as well– Apple Cider Vinegar, coconut oil, use spices that help with metabolism, and eating certain fruits for good digestion are also listed.
In the next few posts I will explain in more detail the theory behind these suggestions and what I feel can help whether before, during or after your HCG journey. Heck, even if you chose not to use the HCG method.
I will share my experience with these suggestions and the benefits of incorporating some of them. Plus easier ways to utilize these and why I think they can really help you too!

Weight Loss Research Beyond HCG
Weight Loss Research
Like I mentioned in a recent post the beginning 2012 was a bit turbulent and I broke one very important rule. I didn’t visit my scale during that time and since my clothes were still fitting didn’t think there would be an issue. But guess what? Once I did decide to jump on the scale the numbers had increased and that is no bueno!
Good news is I am already rounding the corner to the numbers my body and mind are happier at 🙂
← What size jean does this little guy wear?
If you are cool with it, I would like to touch on a couple of things that I have been thinking about –
Don’t Let Crabs in Life Drag you Down!
1 – I had kind of a “hater” if you want to call it that comment on one of my older youtube vlogs when I showed that I had made it into size 25 jeans. I’m pretty sure I complained then that the video seemed to make me look bigger than I was. Another HCGer told me I had the computer at a bad angle etc. But also in Vegas when I met everyone in person they all were on my case in a nice way telling me “You are done, you don’t have anymore to lose” They said the videos were not doing what I really looked like justice.
Breaking Ground Research!
2 – Now let’s go forward and like I mentioned at the beginning of this post I had a tough start to the year and I gained a little back. Probably about the same as a person that never grew up with a weight problem would given the circumstances. Just as I was going to buckle down to get that tad bit off so my smallest jeans could fit more comfortable (we all like wiggle room).
I was asked to test something. I highly respect the person who asked and know that his motivation is to help so many conquer their weight issue. And I know the respect he has for the original protocol and Dr Simeons research. Between knowing he and I are on the same page when it comes to helping people. And as everyone knows I admit to being a Lab Rat I agreed to gaining a bit more (basically same as loading). This task was the toughest for me who also admits to being “Load-phobic”. But he helped me understand on the scientific level why it is so important.
Mum’s the Word!
For the sake of science and respecting his research I can not say anymore till he gives me the green light. But if it keeps going as well as it has he is going to be able to help a ton of people and that really is exciting to be a part of!
Here ius a hint of what is part of the plan.
Stay tuned from the shrinking woman… Oh – and if that “Crab” who said “you don’t look like you wear size 25 jeans” ever comes across this post maybe I need to find someone to help me with a video so we can turn back the waistband of the jeans while they are ON MY BODY to display the number…OY – some people! – LOL….Gotta Love them anyway 🙂
How Much Weight Will I Lose on HCG?
Setting Your Weight Loss Goal
Faith Means Acting Before Knowing
-Romans 1:17
Can you tell I’m up for a pep talk again!
Here is the thing, I have had so many people write and ask me questions and with the question they ask they usually comment that they don’t think they can get to a certain weight or goal.
I did the very same thing when I started my HCG journey. I didn’t set my goal to the lowest adult weight I had been in the past. Quite frankly I did not think an amount lower than the goal I first set for this journey would be attainable.
But as I was watching other HCGers vlogs and I was seeing their success I would comment to congratulate them and acknowledge how great they were doing. They would many times comment back that what they were achieving would be mine too. I remember writing back saying things like, “”well I don’t know about that, or I can only dream to be that small”.
But the Good news was that I had faith enough to get into action and start my journey.
Even though I ended up blowing right by my original goal if I had not set some sort of goal and got started I would never have gotten to the easy part! What is that you might ask, adjusting my goal weight to a lower number in both clothing size and scale number!
Trust me, as you move along through your journey each successful day will be also building your faith in what you have and Can achieve!
Instead of doubting what you can do on protocol embrace the fact that it will get you where you want to go. Shoot, maybe even in waters you have never been in.
To this day I am completely floored that not only did the protocol make me smaller than I had ever been but now my body can’t be comfortable any other way.
When I was overweight and I would read that a naturally thin person will stop eating when satisfied (not full) I remember thinking, “How do they do that when something tastes so good?” Now my mindset is the opposite. As good as something might taste it can wait until the time when I need to eat again. I simply can’t eat just to eat. This is completely opposite of how I grew up so having a habit like that take a total 180 is a God send!
HCG – Load Days
Do I HAVE to LOAD to do the HCG Protocol?
Lets Talk about the Art of Loading!
When I was first learning about Dr. Simeons protocol one of the steps that sounded pretty cool was the “load days”. I think anyone that is first starting can’t help but think this should be fun.
Well it is not as fun as you would think, but this is why you do it.
Dr Simeons explained in Pounds & Inches that basically you need to stock up your normal fat reserve.
It makes sense that if you will be going on a low calorie diet and you are told you should “stock up” on some fattening food. You might as well pick the foods that you might miss while you are on the protocol round. But besides that you want to make sure you add in fats that help your body want to release fat more easily.
Of course if you are going to load or as some others refer the two days as “gorge days”.
You are going to see the scale numbers go up instead of down. This can be a little disconcerting to someone starting. But as soon as you are into your first week and you see that not only the load weight came right off put you are also releasing very nicely the concern of the initial quick gain is gone as quick as it came. – YAY
Now here is a little twist on the choice I made during my rounds. I was OK loading for the very first time and all went well. But when I unfortunately let my emotions get in the way of my logical mind I became Load-phobic. I didn’t want to have to deal with the increase numbers on the scale, though I knew they would be short lived. I also really disliked feeling too full. I can’t stand being that uncomfortable.
I figured I would rather go through a couple of “hunger days” instead of loading.
But then I got educated beyond what Dr. Simeon explained. Even though the Dr. explained well sometimes you have to hear that one other person saying it a little differently.Because I already experienced first hand how the fat fast , for exampleI was taught that you can even load “clean” if that will help get past the phobia and help a person load instead of opting out.
(Check Out the Mac Nut Fat Fast I Love Doing for Faster Fat Releases)
As far as loading….Don’t get me wrong, I still think if you are going to load if there are any foods you would like to get out of your system (cravings etc.) This is the time to do it!
HCG Clinics
Do I Need a HCG Clinic?
I have been asked many times,”Did you have a Doctor’s Supervision”?
My Answer:
I did not go to a Clinic or Doctor. The clinics that are doing the protocol seem to be quite pricy and many people that have asked me questions in the past that have gone to clinics tell me the clinics also want to sell them anything from appetite suppressants to meal replacements and supplements. I had a friend that went to a clinic before she knew that I had done HCG.
Not only were they selling her the meal replacements but no one at the clinic had done the protocol themselves. The Doctor was overweight and when she would ask simple questions that anyone who had read the original manuscript would know answers to they were clueless. But of course they were more than happy to take her money.
I’m sure somewhere there has got to be a clinic that is above board. There is one in my town that another friend of mine helped create a testimonial video for. He said just listening to the patients stories made him a believer that the protocol really works. He said, “you could just see the happiness in the patients’ faces. They were so happy to have their life back”.
The only thing I don’t “get” is I was told that the doctor is obese.
Actually I think I do know why. I can’t tell you how many times people say they are serious and what to change but they really aren’t ready yet. They don’t want the food choices narrowed down even if hunger won’t be a factor. Food is comfort for many people and they may want to keep that for now. It won’t be until they are not comfortable in their situation.
I had another friend that even though she would tell her husband he was eating unhealthy. He stubbornly kept the food habit he enjoyed. It wasn’t till he went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with almost a complete blockage to his heart that he considered changing his ways. He was basically FORCED to change, it was either that or DIE.
Now let’s get back to what I did instead of going to a clinic;
My brother mentioned that maybe I should check out You Tube for info on a diet his girlfriend had done.
I watched all kinds of vlogs that HCGers had posted and they were stressing the fact that you have to read pounds & inches.
I ordered the HCG from www.reliablerxpharmacy.com online and while I waited for it to arrive I read Dr Simeons
manuscript over and over.
Plus watched the vlogs and posted questions to the HCGers on youtube and other forums.
Please note that since there are some youtube videos that just want to capitalize on the “craze” use your discretion. Watch the people that have been around a long time like the OG mamaclok and other people (there are a lot of great ones) that are on the protocol and going about their lives. I think the “staged” videos uploaded by companies are a turn off.
I ordered the rest of the supplies I would need as a kit. The kit was more than if I had gotten the items on my own but after I had the one kit I knew exactly what I would need for future rounds and then bought my supplies through Amazon etc.
Please note: If you have a medical condition that you are being treated for only you know based on your situation if you should pursue this option.
HCG Side Effects ?
Is HCG a Risk or Danger?
First the two Main Questions I am continually asked about :
Question;
Is hair loss a side effect?
I experienced the opposite with HCG in regards to hair loss. Before I knew about HCG I did a long fast and the hair loss I began to experience got really scary. When I got on HCG the hair loss stopped. I figured it would be similar to when I was pregnant and I might need to be prepared for some loss once I was done with HCG.
I’m very happy to report that didn’t happen.
One more thing about the hair, someone in the past commented to me that she thought the loss may also depend on if menopause is also part of the mix. I’m not at that point in my life so I have no idea. But I have a friend that has never done HCG and part of her pre-menopausal symptoms was hair loss until she got on hormone therapy.
If I was limited to what supplements I could recommend and could only select three here and why. I prefer the Vitacost Hair,Skin & Nails Formula .
This vitamin slowed the loss I was having prior to starting HCG and then once I was on HCG any hair in the brush was minuscule. And I like to add extra Biotin , so that counts as my first two.
I look at that as my multivitamin selection.
What About Loose Skin?
I encourage anyone who is starting HCG to also take MSM
(preferably the MSM liquid form) this counts as my third supplement.
I wish I had taken it from day one. Because we release the fat rapidly on this protocol the MSM helps our skin tighten.
Besides the questions I have gotten I looked online to see what the websites that are “CON” HCG were listing as risks.
Quite frankly many sites were just plain silly, or had not done their due diligence to understand the original research.
Even well known sites that also have T.V. shows were filled with a bunch of bunk.
I’m sure they don’t want to get on their sponsors bad side and have advertising money they receive to go ‘bye-bye”
I would look at the “Risk List” and as I read each item said to myself, “I NEVER experienced that, or that one or that one, oh that one? That actually got better once I was on HCG “
“Complicating Disorders (from page 26 of my copy of the manuscript)”
Dr Simeon’s addresses the disorders that might complicate his HCG treatment in pound & inches
NOT because using HCG will cause the problem, on the contrary
Most of these disorders (not all) stem from obesity or unhealthy lifestyle.
Yet while doing his research found that the patients on the HCG protocol were not negatively effected even though they had the disorders listed below;
Diabetes, Rheumatism, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Peptic Ulcers, Psoriasis, Brittle finger nails, Hair loss, Varicose Ulcers, and Gout.
As you read the manuscript you will see that the treatment improved the patients situation with the disorder while the patient was going through the protocol.
Dr Simeon is SO DETAILED about each of the above disorders and explains why there is improvement or no adverse reaction etc. once on the HCG treatment. People predisposed to Gout was the one situation I read in Pounds & Inches
that something might be uncomfortable before it can get better. Dr Simeons explains it a lot better than I can.
When I read that section it reminded me of how when someone does a detox they might have some discomfort while the body is cleansing itself of the toxins.
Food Choices if Gout is a concern;
Some of the foods like asparagus for example that are on the protocol food list is a food that can alter the body’s blood uric acid level .So if you are prone to gout being an issue you should check over the food list and make your selections accordingly.
The Hormone Debate;
“HCG is Not a Sex Hormone
It cannot he sufficiently emphasized that HCG is not sex-hormone, that its action is
identical in men, women, children and in those cases in which the sex-glands no longer
function owing to old age or their surgical removal. The only sexual change it can bring
about after puberty is an improvement of a pre-existing deficiency. But never stimulation beyond the normal.. In an indirect way via the anterior pituitary, HCG regulates menstruation and facilitates conception, but it never virilizes a woman or feminizes a man. It neither makes men grow breasts nor does it interfere with their virility, though where this was deficient it may improve it. It never makes women grow a beard or develop a gruff voice. I have stressed this point only for the sake of my lay readers, because, it is our daily experience that when patients hear the word hormone they
immediately jump to the conclusion that this must have something to do with the sexsphere.
They are not accustomed as we are, to think thyroid, insulin, cortisone, adrenalin
etc, as hormones.”
One last thing I want to mention is the types of so called HCG that are out there.
Since so many new “types” have sprung up recently my concern is the same as Dr Simeon had in Pounds and Inches. If you are doing the 500 VLCD and not taking HCG (the real deal) you will be starving yourself. I’m sure if you starve yourself there will be hair loss, weakness, abdominal distress, muscle loss etc.
Not having hunger isn’t the only thing real HCG is doing. Burning the abnormal fat for energy is what makes the protocol so wonderful and NOT a starvation diet.
HCG – What is the Correct HCG Dose for Weight Loss?
HCG – What is the Right DOSE ?
HCG – Question of the Day
This is a really great question and there are different dose calculator.
Charts and Lists aside I have found it is all about
Finding the HCG dose “Sweet Spot”
QUESTION:
I’m currently going to a “clinic” and with your help – plan on ordering HCG from ReliableRXPharmacy and supplies from Amazon and doing this myself. Although I’m having success at the “clinic” (lost 10 lbs. the first week) – they really do push the appetite suppressants and other unnecessary products. I’ll have to continue to go until I get my HCG delivery – but with your guidance – I know that I can do this on my own and save ALOT of money.
My question is – do you change your dose based on your weight or how your hunger is? What dose did you start with and did you continue the same dosage throughout all of your phases? Also – did you inject 6 days and skip one as outlined in the original protocol? I’m currently on 125 – five days a week – skip two – and feel kind of hungry.
ANSWER:
Congrats on such great results, you are doing awesome!
If you are just one week into it sometimes it takes at least that for the hcg to get at a good level. I remember my first week. I was concerned that I was going to be the one oddball that hcg wouldn’t work the same on as the people I was watching on youtube. Then it was Friday late afternoon and I suddenly realized that I wasn’t hungry and I had forgot to eat the P2 food I brought for lunch. I thought, “Oh this is what they are talking about”?
I did dose at about the same. I would fill to just past the “20 and not get to the “25″. How is that for being scientific-LOL
One funny thing about the HCG dose.
Once you find your “sweet spot” you can tell because hunger isn’t an issue. But here is the tricky part. Till you find the “sweet spot” if you don’t dose enough that could cause hunger but if you dose too much that could cause hunger. So if you at anytime decide to adjust do it ever so slightly till “bing” you find the spot! My dose amount stayed consistent pretty much, only backed off near the end but ever so slightly. During my rounds I would only skip a dose one day and of course when TOM arrived.
Losing Fat on HCG
What To Expect to Lose On HCG
A jug fills drop by drop.
-Buddha
With HCG lets turn that around and say,
“The jug empty’s with each pour (wink)”
Any of you seasoned vet dieters out there remember back if you ever did the Weight Watcher program?
You would go in for your weekly weigh in and meeting and you felt you were losing at a clipping rate if you were seeing an approx 2 lbs loss each week. By all traditional standards you were losing fast!
Now fast forward to HCG Protocol. Before you started you saw or heard how people lose a pound a day plus. Of course like me you said “count me in!” The first week it can be very feasible that you could release to the point where you have lost even more than 7 lbs the 1st week.
Enter PATIENCE:
Whether on a forum, facebook or You Tube during my journey and up to now I see HCGers who are releasing but are sad that the release wasn’t more to their liking.
I am the first to admit that I can be patient with people but not with myself. Thus why I selected to do cycling/interruptions during my HCG journey.
I am writing this post because I want you to be kind to yourself and appreciate every success you have during your journey. When a comment goes in the direction of, “I only released or I only lost”. The fact is you got rid of fat and that is why you are doing this!
The Dr Simeon’s Research:
Also Dr Simeon titled his protocol “pounds & Inches” not simply “pounds”. You will be also losing inches shrinking and as long as you are really on HCG your body won’t be going after good muscle that your body needs to keep. I bought the book that the other guy wrote about Dr Simeons research. I am not a fan of the entrepreneur that wrote the book but I don’t hate him either. Anyway, one of the examples was the pregnant women in 3rd world countries that give birth to health babies even though their calorie intake is low and their activity level is basically hard labor during their trimesters. This is how Dr Simeon realized that if you have HCG in your system is like a heat seeking missile (that is my example not the Dr’s) going after the stored fat so it can keep the baby (in your case your body) sustained.
If you fudge on protocol you will probably experience that you will see a gain. My example here is that HCG is also like a magnet so if you put fat into your system while on HCG the HCG figures it better store it so you will stay sustained.
Set Points:
There will still be “set points” both ones you will be creating during your journey so your body won’t want to going the weight back easily. And others that you will need patience with when pushing through them. These set points are when your body gets to a weight that you had settled into in the past for a period of time. Your body gets to that weight and says to itself, “I remember this” and thinks it is where it should stay. You need to be the boss and say, “nope let’s keep going!”
My final 2 cents Today – I write on this blog because I want someone out there going through their journey to find a place that can help them along the way.
I am not a company or medical person. I am simply a person that knows I am blessed to have found HCG.
My goal is to share my thoughts, experiences, and whatever info I have learned.
Be Well and Be Happy!
HCG-Getting Back to Basics
Starting HCG
Like many great people out there I have been experiencing quite the crazy year. Situations, changes and losses that can weigh emotionally heavy on a person’s heart and mind.
So after a lot of thought and soul searching I have decided for many reasons to do a round.
I have not gained horribly and actually my clothes fit but not as comfortable as I like them to. I made one cardinal sin with maintenance…avoided the scale for too long. During the turbulent time of this years beginning I simply didn’t want to “deal”.
Then the over thinking of ” if I go back on HCG will I be letting those I have been helping down”?
With that mind conversation I finally remembered that other HCGers that I know and respect at different times have decided to do another round and I didn’t have negative judgement on them.If anything I welcomed them back with open arms encouragement!
So now with all the song lyrics that are going through my mind that motivate me to start fresh I am excited about this!
Foo fighter’s “Walk” or Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle” and all that 😉
So my plan on my blog is to share different info that I come across that I know helps me stay on track.
I will also do a you tube vlog very soon…FUN Times!!
Even with this decision I know that I have maintained better than at any other time in my “dieting career”. I call it that because I started dieting when I was in elementary school. Not one single other method has kept the weight off like this. I began my HCG journey in January 201o. It is now 2012 and would I admit it is debatable whether I really would need to do a round based on how much I want to lose.
But I have decided I want Pounds & Inches manuscript to be sure I was weighing the right amount.
I already saw a video and read research that will help motivate me to stay on track and I will share that with you too.
My goal with this website was to help people by sharing my experiences and what I learn.
So my plan is to help me and in turn I hope to help you!
