Maintaining After HCG Diet
Maintaining After HCG Diet
Still At Goal!
You can Do It Too!
I started my HCG Journey on January 17th, 2010. By May 2010 I was at goal.
It is now January 2013 and I have maintained my weight loss and enjoyed my new size since I hit my goal in 2010.
Of course like anyone at times there have been a bit of gain then loss but I never “outgrew” the clothes I was able to buy after I hit my goal in 2010. On any other diet plans, programs, experiences whatever you prefer to call it I would have had to put the “skinny clothes” to the back of the closet because I couldn’t get them on or zip them up anymore.
I have had “tight” days but always able to wear my goal size.
This year I want to really dig in and be able to help more people lose and then maintain like I have. I encourage you to watch me on you tube. Ask me questions after you watch my vlogs. Please friend me, subscribe, like, and help me help you by asking questions I can answer on my vlogs. My new goal is to do a lot more vlogs this year so I can help a lot more people!
Below is my getting reacquainted vlog from you tube.
Steak and Mug Cake
Steak and Mug Cake Day
A trick I tried but didn’t get a chance to do it till I was done with P2 was the Mug Cake and Steak Day.
Many hcger’s have experimented with the later when on P2 and strangely enough experienced great releases even though it doesn’t seem to make sense. One thing I have learned when doing these release tricks is you need to be very strict on protocol or clean eating on the following days or the release will be short lived.
The How to:
Lunch: 100 grams of sirloin
Dinner: 100 grams of sirloin + Mac Mug Cake (recipe below)
Don’t forget to drink all of your water!
The recipe I preferred:
Mug Cake
1/2 oz Mac nuts ( ground)
1 tbsp coco powder
2 pkt stevia
3 tbsp heavy cream
1 tbsp coconut oil melted
And 1 egg
Mix it together and cook for about 60 sec.
Another Variation :
1/2 oz. of macadamia nuts (or 6 whole nuts), ground into a flour consistency
1/2 Tbl. dark cocoa
1/2 Tbl. cocoa
1-1/2 Tbl. xylitol
2 packets of Splenda for coffee, vanilla flavor (in the coffee aisle – optional)
1 egg
3 Tbl. heavy cream
1 Tbl. coconut oil
1 capful of s/f flavored syrup, Davinci or Torani (optional)
Fat-free Reddy Whip (topping, optional)
In a coffee mug, combine ground mac nuts, cocoas, xylitol, and splenda. Add one egg and mix well with a fork. Add cream and syrup and stir. Last, add coconut oil. If it clumps, break it up with a fork.
Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Some people had to microwave up to 2 more minutes. Let cool for a few minutes.
Top with fat-free Reddy Whip or any whipped cream around 10 calories per serving.
Weight Loss Research Beyond HCG
Weight Loss Research
Like I mentioned in a recent post the beginning 2012 was a bit turbulent and I broke one very important rule. I didn’t visit my scale during that time and since my clothes were still fitting didn’t think there would be an issue. But guess what? Once I did decide to jump on the scale the numbers had increased and that is no bueno!
Good news is I am already rounding the corner to the numbers my body and mind are happier at 🙂
← What size jean does this little guy wear?
If you are cool with it, I would like to touch on a couple of things that I have been thinking about –
Don’t Let Crabs in Life Drag you Down!
1 – I had kind of a “hater” if you want to call it that comment on one of my older youtube vlogs when I showed that I had made it into size 25 jeans. I’m pretty sure I complained then that the video seemed to make me look bigger than I was. Another HCGer told me I had the computer at a bad angle etc. But also in Vegas when I met everyone in person they all were on my case in a nice way telling me “You are done, you don’t have anymore to lose” They said the videos were not doing what I really looked like justice.
Breaking Ground Research!
2 – Now let’s go forward and like I mentioned at the beginning of this post I had a tough start to the year and I gained a little back. Probably about the same as a person that never grew up with a weight problem would given the circumstances. Just as I was going to buckle down to get that tad bit off so my smallest jeans could fit more comfortable (we all like wiggle room).
I was asked to test something. I highly respect the person who asked and know that his motivation is to help so many conquer their weight issue. And I know the respect he has for the original protocol and Dr Simeons research. Between knowing he and I are on the same page when it comes to helping people. And as everyone knows I admit to being a Lab Rat I agreed to gaining a bit more (basically same as loading). This task was the toughest for me who also admits to being “Load-phobic”. But he helped me understand on the scientific level why it is so important.
Mum’s the Word!
For the sake of science and respecting his research I can not say anymore till he gives me the green light. But if it keeps going as well as it has he is going to be able to help a ton of people and that really is exciting to be a part of!
Here ius a hint of what is part of the plan.
Stay tuned from the shrinking woman… Oh – and if that “Crab” who said “you don’t look like you wear size 25 jeans” ever comes across this post maybe I need to find someone to help me with a video so we can turn back the waistband of the jeans while they are ON MY BODY to display the number…OY – some people! – LOL….Gotta Love them anyway 🙂
HCG – Getting Started Questions
Top HCG Questions
A youtube viewer wrote and asked some great questions.
I thought it would be good to post the assortment of questions and my answers because this is just about the top most asked questions when someone is getting ready to start HCG.
She wrote;
“I’m getting ready to begin my HCG journey. I’m so excited, yet at the same time I’m scared! Between your Loseit4ever channel, Mamaclok, and HCG forums, I’m getting a lot of information, and becoming more assured that I’m doing the right thing for my health.”
Great Q&A!
Q-Can I continue to take my blood pressure and water pill meds while on HCG?
MY ANSWER – If these are prescriptions your doctor has you on you should not go off of them unless the doctor tells you it is ok.
When on protocol you should be drinking a lot of water which will also help you with your releases (2 quart minimum). Once your body “gets” that you will be drinking more water your body won’t try to be a “camel” and retain the water.
Q- I also take Melatonin to help with sleep.
MY Answer — I think Melatonin is good and fine while on HCG.
Q – And would you recommend a supplement for energy?
MY Answer — Many HCGers take B12. I take a lot of different supplements (Not diet pills) that also give my energy. Yerba Mate Tea is also good. But what I want to be sure is understood is that when on proper HCG the abnormal fat stores are being burned. Too many people only look at the 500 cal consumption and worry they will be weak but you won’t be. I wasn’t weak, lightheaded, none of that during my rounds.
Q-What do you recommend is best to eat during load days? I see Mamaclok from youtube ate donuts, but are there recommended “gorge” foods?
My Answer — Since that vlog I think Karen would agree better “gorge” choices are good fats. One successful HCGer loves to eat a big bowl of guacamole. I make sure I eat foods that I think I will “miss” once I’m on protocol. Mexican food and even though it has sugar, ice cream which is also high fat so the fat will slow the absorption rate of the sugar into your system. Other HCGers like to eat fatty meats as well. I just learned that finishing out your last load day 3 hours prior to bedtime with ½ a brick of cream cheese and 15-30 macadamia nuts helps your system to kick into ketosis better.
Q-Is loose skin expected with hcg weight loss?
My Answer — The great thing about HCG is we release the fat quickly. But then your skin needs to play “catch up”. If I had it to do over again I would have taken the MSM in mega doses as soon as I started HCG.
Q- I see where you were talking about the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MSM cocktail shot – at what phase is this advisable?
My Answer — I came up with the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MSM shot for P2ers.Even though I have done the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MCT during P2. Since MCT is an oil I prefer a new P2er doesn’t do that one until there a reason for going that direction. Or once they know their body is settled into the HCG dose and adding the MCT oil won’t throw off your releases.
don’t know why but it seems to me it is good to do your very first round as virgin on protocol as you possibly can. After the first round if you feel you want to try more “tricks” to see which ones work for you go ahead but journal so you know what works and what you should avoid.
Q-I currently take Perfect Food Super Green Powder
mixed in water, because I don’t eat enough veggies. I’ve never checked the caloric content, though I guess it should be low, and fat free. Would you recommend continuing with it?
My Answer — You would have to let me know the ingredients. If carbs or sugars aren’t added it should be ok. But again even if it doesn’t have those ingredients I wouldn’t add it at first . Just do protocol and then add and journal the result. If you see that by adding it you either stay steady with your releases or even better releases that you know you are good to go!
Q-Where did you purchase your hcg? (I plan on doing mine sublingually)
My Answer — I did injections but sub lingual also uses RX HCG so you can still purchase from where I did if you want.
I prefer ReliablerxPharmacy(reasonable prices) is my favorite.
All Day Chemist (tried them because other hcgers mentioned them a lot)
and they are fine too. The way to pay with reliable was easier for me though.
HCG – Load Days
Do I HAVE to LOAD to do the HCG Protocol?
Lets Talk about the Art of Loading!
When I was first learning about Dr. Simeons protocol one of the steps that sounded pretty cool was the “load days”. I think anyone that is first starting can’t help but think this should be fun.
Well it is not as fun as you would think, but this is why you do it.
Dr Simeons explained in Pounds & Inches that basically you need to stock up your normal fat reserve.
It makes sense that if you will be going on a low calorie diet and you are told you should “stock up” on some fattening food. You might as well pick the foods that you might miss while you are on the protocol round. But besides that you want to make sure you add in fats that help your body want to release fat more easily.
Of course if you are going to load or as some others refer the two days as “gorge days”.
You are going to see the scale numbers go up instead of down. This can be a little disconcerting to someone starting. But as soon as you are into your first week and you see that not only the load weight came right off put you are also releasing very nicely the concern of the initial quick gain is gone as quick as it came. – YAY
Now here is a little twist on the choice I made during my rounds. I was OK loading for the very first time and all went well. But when I unfortunately let my emotions get in the way of my logical mind I became Load-phobic. I didn’t want to have to deal with the increase numbers on the scale, though I knew they would be short lived. I also really disliked feeling too full. I can’t stand being that uncomfortable.
I figured I would rather go through a couple of “hunger days” instead of loading.
But then I got educated beyond what Dr. Simeon explained. Even though the Dr. explained well sometimes you have to hear that one other person saying it a little differently.Because I already experienced first hand how the fat fast , for exampleI was taught that you can even load “clean” if that will help get past the phobia and help a person load instead of opting out.
(Check Out the Mac Nut Fat Fast I Love Doing for Faster Fat Releases)
As far as loading….Don’t get me wrong, I still think if you are going to load if there are any foods you would like to get out of your system (cravings etc.) This is the time to do it!
HCG Clinics
Do I Need a HCG Clinic?
I have been asked many times,”Did you have a Doctor’s Supervision”?
My Answer:
I did not go to a Clinic or Doctor. The clinics that are doing the protocol seem to be quite pricy and many people that have asked me questions in the past that have gone to clinics tell me the clinics also want to sell them anything from appetite suppressants to meal replacements and supplements. I had a friend that went to a clinic before she knew that I had done HCG.
Not only were they selling her the meal replacements but no one at the clinic had done the protocol themselves. The Doctor was overweight and when she would ask simple questions that anyone who had read the original manuscript would know answers to they were clueless. But of course they were more than happy to take her money.
I’m sure somewhere there has got to be a clinic that is above board. There is one in my town that another friend of mine helped create a testimonial video for. He said just listening to the patients stories made him a believer that the protocol really works. He said, “you could just see the happiness in the patients’ faces. They were so happy to have their life back”.
The only thing I don’t “get” is I was told that the doctor is obese.
Actually I think I do know why. I can’t tell you how many times people say they are serious and what to change but they really aren’t ready yet. They don’t want the food choices narrowed down even if hunger won’t be a factor. Food is comfort for many people and they may want to keep that for now. It won’t be until they are not comfortable in their situation.
I had another friend that even though she would tell her husband he was eating unhealthy. He stubbornly kept the food habit he enjoyed. It wasn’t till he went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with almost a complete blockage to his heart that he considered changing his ways. He was basically FORCED to change, it was either that or DIE.
Now let’s get back to what I did instead of going to a clinic;
My brother mentioned that maybe I should check out You Tube for info on a diet his girlfriend had done.
I watched all kinds of vlogs that HCGers had posted and they were stressing the fact that you have to read pounds & inches.
I ordered the HCG from www.reliablerxpharmacy.com online and while I waited for it to arrive I read Dr Simeons
manuscript over and over.
Plus watched the vlogs and posted questions to the HCGers on youtube and other forums.
Please note that since there are some youtube videos that just want to capitalize on the “craze” use your discretion. Watch the people that have been around a long time like the OG mamaclok and other people (there are a lot of great ones) that are on the protocol and going about their lives. I think the “staged” videos uploaded by companies are a turn off.
I ordered the rest of the supplies I would need as a kit. The kit was more than if I had gotten the items on my own but after I had the one kit I knew exactly what I would need for future rounds and then bought my supplies through Amazon etc.
Please note: If you have a medical condition that you are being treated for only you know based on your situation if you should pursue this option.
HCG Side Effects ?
Is HCG a Risk or Danger?
First the two Main Questions I am continually asked about :
Question;
Is hair loss a side effect?
I experienced the opposite with HCG in regards to hair loss. Before I knew about HCG I did a long fast and the hair loss I began to experience got really scary. When I got on HCG the hair loss stopped. I figured it would be similar to when I was pregnant and I might need to be prepared for some loss once I was done with HCG.
I’m very happy to report that didn’t happen.
One more thing about the hair, someone in the past commented to me that she thought the loss may also depend on if menopause is also part of the mix. I’m not at that point in my life so I have no idea. But I have a friend that has never done HCG and part of her pre-menopausal symptoms was hair loss until she got on hormone therapy.
If I was limited to what supplements I could recommend and could only select three here and why. I prefer the Vitacost Hair,Skin & Nails Formula .
This vitamin slowed the loss I was having prior to starting HCG and then once I was on HCG any hair in the brush was minuscule. And I like to add extra Biotin , so that counts as my first two.
I look at that as my multivitamin selection.
What About Loose Skin?
I encourage anyone who is starting HCG to also take MSM
(preferably the MSM liquid form) this counts as my third supplement.
I wish I had taken it from day one. Because we release the fat rapidly on this protocol the MSM helps our skin tighten.
Besides the questions I have gotten I looked online to see what the websites that are “CON” HCG were listing as risks.
Quite frankly many sites were just plain silly, or had not done their due diligence to understand the original research.
Even well known sites that also have T.V. shows were filled with a bunch of bunk.
I’m sure they don’t want to get on their sponsors bad side and have advertising money they receive to go ‘bye-bye”
I would look at the “Risk List” and as I read each item said to myself, “I NEVER experienced that, or that one or that one, oh that one? That actually got better once I was on HCG “
“Complicating Disorders (from page 26 of my copy of the manuscript)”
Dr Simeon’s addresses the disorders that might complicate his HCG treatment in pound & inches
NOT because using HCG will cause the problem, on the contrary
Most of these disorders (not all) stem from obesity or unhealthy lifestyle.
Yet while doing his research found that the patients on the HCG protocol were not negatively effected even though they had the disorders listed below;
Diabetes, Rheumatism, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Peptic Ulcers, Psoriasis, Brittle finger nails, Hair loss, Varicose Ulcers, and Gout.
As you read the manuscript you will see that the treatment improved the patients situation with the disorder while the patient was going through the protocol.
Dr Simeon is SO DETAILED about each of the above disorders and explains why there is improvement or no adverse reaction etc. once on the HCG treatment. People predisposed to Gout was the one situation I read in Pounds & Inches
that something might be uncomfortable before it can get better. Dr Simeons explains it a lot better than I can.
When I read that section it reminded me of how when someone does a detox they might have some discomfort while the body is cleansing itself of the toxins.
Food Choices if Gout is a concern;
Some of the foods like asparagus for example that are on the protocol food list is a food that can alter the body’s blood uric acid level .So if you are prone to gout being an issue you should check over the food list and make your selections accordingly.
The Hormone Debate;
“HCG is Not a Sex Hormone
It cannot he sufficiently emphasized that HCG is not sex-hormone, that its action is
identical in men, women, children and in those cases in which the sex-glands no longer
function owing to old age or their surgical removal. The only sexual change it can bring
about after puberty is an improvement of a pre-existing deficiency. But never stimulation beyond the normal.. In an indirect way via the anterior pituitary, HCG regulates menstruation and facilitates conception, but it never virilizes a woman or feminizes a man. It neither makes men grow breasts nor does it interfere with their virility, though where this was deficient it may improve it. It never makes women grow a beard or develop a gruff voice. I have stressed this point only for the sake of my lay readers, because, it is our daily experience that when patients hear the word hormone they
immediately jump to the conclusion that this must have something to do with the sexsphere.
They are not accustomed as we are, to think thyroid, insulin, cortisone, adrenalin
etc, as hormones.”
One last thing I want to mention is the types of so called HCG that are out there.
Since so many new “types” have sprung up recently my concern is the same as Dr Simeon had in Pounds and Inches. If you are doing the 500 VLCD and not taking HCG (the real deal) you will be starving yourself. I’m sure if you starve yourself there will be hair loss, weakness, abdominal distress, muscle loss etc.
Not having hunger isn’t the only thing real HCG is doing. Burning the abnormal fat for energy is what makes the protocol so wonderful and NOT a starvation diet.
HCG Pounds and Inches
HCG – Pounds & Inches Equals SUCCESS!!
“Knowledge is Power”
-Sir Francis Bacon
A lot of people are gearing up to get started and I can not emphasize enough how important it is to read the original manuscript pounds & Inches before you start your HCG Journey.Even if you decided to go to a clinic and assume the Dr. at the clinic is all you need –Au Contraire!
Before I ever took my first dose I had watched numerous you tube videos to find out what other HCGers were experiencing and read many forums etc.
BUT –THE MOST important was reading and re- reading the Pounds & Inches
manuscript.
Understanding Dr Simeons’ research is vital to your success. Because it is so different than just a diet plan, knowing why it is different is a vital component.
Question:
I’m thinking of getting started with HCG diet and to reclaim my life. For the past couple of days, I have been trying to read up as much as possible on HCG. I have seen quite a few vlogs on YouTube. I have also gone through your blog and must say that you are an inspiration to many. Could you please help me with few basic ques – I was wondering how many rounds would be required for losing about 70 pounds? Also, how do I space out these multiple rounds? I am 30 yrs and desperate to lose weight. I have tried everything short of bariatric and have done many other things in an attempt to get rid of my extra pounds. But every time I have been disappointed. I want to give HCG an honest attempt. Thanks in advance for all your help.
Answer:
Have you read Pounds & Inches?
I have a link to a free pdf copy on my blog. That is an absolute must before starting the protocol. Reading the manuscript will answer your questions about time between rounds, what kind of fat the protocol targets, and why it works so well. Once you get a foundation of the research and do your first round you will believe that success can be yours. Then after your first round you can decide if you will stay “POP” (perfect on Protocol) or use a variation. I did interruptions or what is also known as cycling. I chose this route because I am terrible about being patient with myself. So don’t focus on that when you haven’t even dipped your toe in the water with your first round yet.
I feel that doing your first round following the original plan is the only way to go if you truly want to succeed at this. I also want to add that I highly respect the HCGers that kept with the original proper phase 3 breaks.
To plan for rounds – I always ordered 3 vials at a time to save on shipping cost when I purchased HCG. I always did 40 day rounds and since I don’t know if you want to do long or short rounds it is hard for me to say how many. But based on what you told me you have a lot going in your favor and I am excited for you! I thought I knew how much I wanted to lose and ended up losing far beyond my original goal and got where I never thought I could.
How to Store HCG
How to Store HCG Before and After Mixing
I Love when you ask questions instead of me only telling you what I did or know!
I think it helps everyone Ten fold when I am asked a question.
You see the question and answer which helps to put the information in perspective.
QUESTION:
How to Store Before and After Mixing
I really, really appreciate your mixing instructions and they are so easy to follow. My only question is – with 5000 iu mixed for a 40 day round – do you fill the syringe daily as needed OR do you prefill 40 syringes and refrigerate? Am I correct in assuming that you only want to freeze it if you want it to last beyond the 40 days? I want to do it correctly and make sure that the last dose of hcg is as potent as the first dose.
What did you do?
Also, what is the best way to store the extra two vials of hcg until I need it for my second and third round? (I ordered 3 vials of 5000 iu from reliable).
ANSWER:
When doing a round I prefer to fill the syringe each day. The rest of the mixed HCG is stored in the mixing vial in the area of your refrigerator that will stay the most consistent in temperature. For Example; don’t put it in the door of your fridge since the temp will change because of people opening and closing the door.
The other 2 vials that remain unmixed until you are ready for another round.
I prefer to store in the refrigerator (though not mandatory).
Freezing is done when you need to save a batch that has already been mixed.
Really your best bet is once you mix HCG for a round Stay Committed and use what you mixed till it is gone and you have successfully completed your round.
BUT is life throws you some crazy curve and you just have to postpone your round and don’t want what you mixed wasted the alternative is to freeze your mixed HCG
Another thing to note when freezing already mixed HCG.
Someone in the HCG Community that truly cares about people getting great results on protocol went as far as testing HCG to figure out potency strength after freezing so a person could measure accordingly prior to freezing the loaded syringes.
Channel name Delmen on youtube is a wonderful resource for recipes, how to get increased releases and to help you get overall good solid understanding about the protocol and why it works so well. Along with why different elements of the plan are so vital to your success.
Here is the low down so you can store successfully;
Frozen/Thawed Trial
HCG can potentially lose close to 40% of its potency’
Pre-measure syringes to freeze, leave an air pocket for expansion and freezes needles pointing upward.
If you use 125 IU fresh, would want to load syringes to 200 IU before freezing. (200 – 40% = 120 IU)
Phase 1 HCG -The Don’t Do List
Phase 1 and Beyond HCG -The Don’t Do List
Never mind Phase 1- The Majority of of this List is Important to Take Seriously if you are Serious About Your Health
The Don’t List
• No Microwaving
I’m at least careful of what I use in the microwave . For example. Watch out for the type of container our leftovers in in. Don’t cover with plastic wrap before re-heating etc.
But for the Nuts & Bolts Theory and to be be sure your are protected from potential harm Google “the risk of microwave cooking”.
• Don’t Eat Farm Raised Fish
There is So MUCH Research especially based on salmon – Goggle it for yourself and see what you find out!
• Don’t Drink a lot of Ice Cold Drinks
It is a free country so I’m entitled –
I beg to differ; it is my opinion that drinking cold water can help the body burn more calories because it has to work to regulate the internal body temperature.
• No Lotions or Creams
This one I feel is a matter of common sense.
What you put on your skin absorbs into your system.
Take the time to really Know what you are using. I don’t go without anything, simply do your homework.
• Be in Fluorescent lighting
Artificial light adversely effects our bodies. Simply Goggle “fluorescent light health risks” to find out what it does to our bodies hormone levels that are associated with stress and how it can flare other life crippling maladies.
I had a boss that made a point to not work in fluorescent lighting even though the rest of us had no choice. If you work in a office environment that you do not have control over do not beat yourself up about it. Simply do what you can within your means to change the lighting that you can. Or educate the co-workers you can influence to make a change.
• No drugs OTC or Other
Many drug side effects “small print” will list weight gain etc. as a reaction that can happen when taking.
Ask you doctor first!
If you are on meds prescribed by your doctor I do not think it is a good idea to stop cold turkey
The Rest of this list is what I call the “No Duh” List – LOL
Don’t Eat Trans Fats
Don’t Eat Fast Food
Do Not Consume High Fructose Corn Syrup
Do Not Consume Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Do Not Eat Foods with Nitrates
Do Not Eat Foods with Artificial Sweeteners
Let’s face it – a blog post could be dedicated to each one of these!
For example; Aspartame-ew
